At least there were flowers

This was an illustration assignment were we had to combine 5 elements ( a woman, a man, a chair, a rock/brick and flowers) in to 5 new images.
In the 5 new images all these elements had to come together, and one element had to be the main element of the image.
My work is inspired on the Portraits of the Duke and Duchess of Urbino by Piero della Francesca.
These paintings are acryl on paper (42 x 29,7 cm).

The transfer

The transfer are two etches I made shortly after making the acryl paintings "at least there were flowers".
The works have sort of the same look as the acryl paintings only these are like a more primitive version.
the works are (14,8 x 21 cm).

Lonely cowboy

Two japanese woodcut prints in blue and red. Inspired by the song of Bobbie Gentry - Ode to Billie Joe.
You see a lonesome cowboy on his horse in the late afternoon. Because the song has a lot of repeating fragments in it and has some links to the cotton workers in the south of America. I thought to translated this into an artwork were it is a long hot summer's day were it was to hot for the cowboy to do any hard work. the works are printed by hand.
